You have the opportunity to purchase a very desirable 1972 MGB Roadster with chrome bumpers, wire wheels and the sought after 4 speed gearbox with overdrive.

The car is being advertised as requiring light restoration as it has been stored in a heated garage for the last 23 years which has helped preserve the car so well. All the expensive and time consuming welding has already been carried out and completed, this includes heritage panels, front wings, rear wings, sill sections, and the list goes on. All the panels have been installed and welded to an extremely high standard as your will see in the photos. The underside of the car is rust free and must have taken weeks to complete. The exterior wings are also fitted to a high standard only showing very minor surface rust along some of the seams.

Registered in the UK in 1972 on a ‘K’ plate, (Tax exempt) it has the 4 speed gearbox with overdrive. All the original body mouldings, chrome trims are present and all are in excellent condition. The original factory convertible top is fully operational with working framework, but will require and new hood material. The car has the original factory 14” chrome wire wheel and hubs, which require cosmetic refurbishment only and are fully functioning and unbuckled. The spare wheel is the correct wire wheel also.

The odometer is reading 29,000, which I wouldn’t presume to be correct given the car is 40 years old. There is a file of paperwork with the car which details lots of maintenance and repair work prior to being stored, included old MoT certificates.

After 23 years the car was started today, new battery, re-commissioned fuel pump, new fluids and some petrol and she started up first time, no dramas, good oil pressure, holding fluids and running sweetly apart from a very worn out water pump bearing (the water pump will be replaced in the next couple of days). The clutch is working fine, engaging all gears and the vehicle moves forward and backwards as it should. The overdrive units operation hasn’t been tested yet.

I have the full V5 registration document. This car is totally original and standard with even its original working radio, and has an expensive stainless steel exhaust system. The car has had majority of the hard work already carried out and this will make an ideal project for an enthusiast or collector. These are very sought after cars and are commanding extremely high prices in the current marketplace and represent exceptional value for money whilst becoming extremely rewarding investments.

Due to change of plans i now have for sale this MGB GT that i took in p/x with the intention of having it for a summer toy after sorting the exterior but after several weeks sitting on my drive ive not got round to touching it so its time it went ..

I drove the car home about 3 weeks ago and apart from the wipers been a little tempremental i was impressed on how well it did drive even the overdrive works ..

From what i can see of the car it is mechanicaly very good with bills for over 2k including been converted to unleaded fuel ,interior is good with seats having been re trimed in black leather ..

The exterior does need some tlc but is very original and not full of filler, i have tried to show most bad bits in pics, the nice bit about the car is that it has tax and mot so it is a car you can use as u improve on it ,and i am sure it will go up in value at same time..

If you have a genuine interest you are more than welcome to come and view and spend some time looking over the car, but i am not open to offers that are not close to the asking price which is what the car owes me so no dreamers please !!
