Welcome to the auction for my 2litre Ford pinto powered toyota Kp30/1000.The car has 6 months MOT left but no Tax. However i could tax the car at buyers expense so that it could be driven away.I did the engine conversion myself and whilst it certainly wont win any beauty contests, it is solid and reliable and i used it for a 6 months as my daily driver. The car now has vastly more BHP than the original 1000 managed to produce and driving through the rear wheels makes for a lot of drifting fun on wet roads (and dry ones if your brave enough). I did think about welding the differential to make this easier, but not knowing what a welded diff is like to live with, i decided against it. I would estimate the engine produces around 100 BHP, but this power is very easy to increase as there are many companies out there that tune these engines. It is a '205' block which is the most sort after version of this engine, with strengthened internals identical to the Cosworth YB bottom end.It is also fitted with a larger than standard Webber 38 dgas carburetor, which i bought new a few years ago.The conversion was done on a budget, and was simply a means of getting the car on the road again. most parts are recycled from other cars and with a little money and a little knowhow could be improved. Whilst it is perfectly usable and safe there are a few knocks and vibrations which could do with sorting: One is the bottom of the sump which taps on the crossmember when the car goes over bumps, this is felt through the steering (stiffer engine mounts would solve this). and the second is the exhaust which under engine breaking sometimes vibrates against the gearbox mounting.It has only once failed to start but I've fitted new points and condenser and it starts fine again.The interior is very good, with only the transmission tunnel needing a little cosmetic attention where the old gear stick used to come through.The tyres are very narrow which may not sound like a plus point but this does make it possible to oversteer at quite low speeds. The perfect, SAFE introduction to drifting. All clocks and gauges work, but the speedo reads too fast due to the small tyres on the back.Standard suspension.Standard brakes, which cope fine with the increased power (discs at the the front and drums at the rear).2  new sills are included in the sale.The log book still has the car listed as a 1000cc engine so will need changing with the DVLA. I never managed to get round to doing it. ;) The original engine and gearbox are included in the sale if the winning bidder wants them. The engine stopped running due to bad compression on two cylinders. The gearbox was perfect and changed gear beautifully.The bad bits.The body is very sound apart from the front wings and sills. The worst wing was the passenger side which had rusted right through just behind the headlight. i took this off, removed all the rust then fiber-glassed and filled the hole. The previous owner said he had done the same at the other side but i cant confirm this. These wings should last a good few years but id keep my eyes open for any new ones. The sills have some rust on the seem where they meet the floor pan, i really don't think this would fail an MOT but i cant guarantee this. I would sort this out before it gets worse and as stated earlier the car comes with two new sills to do so.Also the bottom of the doors show some bubbling.The rest of the car seems in very good shape and i cant see any welded patches underneath.I would strongly advise a visit to view the car as with any customized vehicle, people's tastes and standards vary.To sum up. This is a chance to own a very rare car with a cheep, reliable and almost unbreakable engine. With a little work it has the potential to be a very quick sleeper, a drift car, or else just sort out the niggles and have a very comfortable everyday classic. Just type 'Toyota KP30' into google and see how good these can look!I have tried to be as honest and thorough as possible but this is the first thing i've ever sold on ebay so if I've missed anything or you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact me and i'll my best to help.A none runner kp30 with similar bodywork issues recently sold on ebay for £700! so this is my start price. The item is Cash on collection please and pickup only, and will need road tax to be driven away.Thanks and happy bidding.

Model HistoryEnvisioned as a luxury sports car, the Triumph Stag was designed to compete directly with the Mercedes-Benz SL class models. All Stags were four-seater convertible coupés, but for structural rigidity – and to meet new American rollover standards at the time – the Stag required a B-pillar "roll bar" hoop connected to the windscreen frame by a T-bar. A removable hardtop was a popular factory option for the early Stags. Only 25,877 cars were produced between 1970 and 1977 of this number, 6,780 were export models. According to the main enthusiast club in the UK, approximately 9,000 Stags are believed to survive in the United Kingdom. The car's popularity is due to its performance, comparative rarity and its Michelotti styling.Interior & EquipmentThe black interior is immaculate, the door cards, dash and seats are all first class and as new as are the carpets. The dash has a walnut finish which is not standard and looks superb. All the gauges work correctly as they should as do the electrics including electric windows. Steering is adjustable.ExteriorHaving had a bare metal respray including new inner and outer front wings there is not one bit of rust/rot or blistering which is testament to how good the preparation was prior to painting. The paint work and all brightwork is to show standard and looks perfect with excellent panel fit and lines. The factory hard top is first class as is the black hood. Stainless steel sill guards have been fitted which enhances the look of the car. Underneath the car is very clean indeed and has been nicely waxoiled. New shocks and uprated suspension bushes have been fitted throughout.Wheels, Tyres & BrakesThe wire wheels are proper knock-ons having benefited from a recent refurb they look superb sitting on almost new 185/80/14 tyres. She has had new brakes and discs throughout.Engine & TransmissionBeautiful V8 which is very smooth with excellent oil pressure and very quiet in operation. There are no all too common overheating issues but as a precaution a 20% larger cooling radiator and 12 vain water pump has been fitted. A new V8 reconditioned engine was fitted at 91,000 miles in 2002 along with a reconditioned 4 speed manual gear box with overdrive in 3rd and 4th gear, an electronic ignition has also been fitted. The clutch operates very smoothly as you would expect from such a lovely fully restored example. The engine bay is to show standard and detailed throughout.Standard EquipmentManual 4 speed gearbox with overdrive, adjustable steering wheel, electric windows, Hard top.Additional EquipmentWalnut dash, Stainless sill plates, radio cassetteSummaryThis right-hand drive Triumph Stag left the factory in September 1974 equipped with manual gearbox and desirable overdrive in 3rd and 4th gear. She has covered 118,000 miles from new with 33 past MOT's in the history file to prove. It features white coachwork complemented by a black interior.
